A few days before Halloween U of W students with the help of the city of Waterloo put together the cities very first sanctioned longboard event!
With over 20 sponsors listed (yours truly included) and over 100 confirmed people on Facebook, it was clear that there was a demand for an event like this in the area. The weather network called for rain, the news was telling us hurricane weathers were expected anytime. Was that enough to stop this event? HELL NO!
Over 50 riders ended up coming out in the pouring rain and cold ass weather to take advantage of a closed road and everything ran smoothly. The winners walked away with arm fulls of gear and everyone had a blast.
Big props to Yoah Sui, the City of Waterloo and everyone else that had a part in this awesome event!
Hope to see this event returning next year!
